BIOGRAFIE George Sidney
George Sidney (October 4, 1916 - May 5, 2002) was an American director and film producer. He was President of the Directors Guild of America from 1951 to 1959 and from 1961 to 1967. He came from an acting family. His uncle George Sidney and his three wives Lillian Burns, Jane Adler and Corinne Cole were also actors.
His most famous works include Holidays in Hollywood (1945, with Frank Sinatra), The Three Musketeers (1948, with Gene Kelly) and Great Nights in Las Vegas (1964, with Elvis Presley). In 1958 he received the Golden Globe in the category Best World Entertainment Through Musical Films.
Sidney died of cancer.
